Job Title: Infant and Toddler Teacher
Program: Early Head Start
Reports to: Center Coordinator
Salary: $20.35 per hour
Location: New Rochelle, NY
Job Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 months a year
General Description
The Infant and Toddler Teacher promotes and develops the infant and toddler in social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and linguistic growth and development. They ensure learning environments are nurturing spaces that support the development of all children. About You
The ideal candidate is self-motivated and dedicated, with a passion for helping infants, toddlers, and families grow in development and education. Minimum Qualifications
Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed in Infant and Toddler or Associate Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or similar. Basic computer skills. Valid Driver’s License, Personal Vehicle, and Liability Insurance required. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or similar. Two years of experience working in a childcare or preschool setting. Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and local state childcare licensing requirements. Bilingual (English and Spanish). What You’ll Be Doing
Teaching and promoting a learning environment for infants and toddlers. Establishing and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children. Conducting daily playground health and safety monitoring. Coordinating and participating in the set-up and clean-up of playground daily. Detecting and reporting signs of illness or unusual behavior in children. Following organizational policy and process to comply with Child Health and Safety Incidents. Maintaining direct supervision of children and ensuring their safety. CURRICULUM / ASSESSMENT / TEACHING AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Implementing curriculum and teaching experience to meet fidelity. Maintaining a nurturing environment for social and emotional development. Maintaining data management system requirements for documenting and tracking data. PARENT, FAMILY, & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Providing an atmosphere that promotes parental engagement and modeling positive behavior. Other Tasks And Responsibilities
Assisting with food service and classroom needs. Attending meetings, trainings, and professional development activities. Assuring general maintenance and security of facility and assisting with inventory. Supporting other classroom assignments and special needs. Physical Demands
Ability to see, hear, and use hands and fingers to fill out forms. Ability to lift infants and toddlers, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and stoop. Benefits
