Safety Specialist – Role Overview

In this role, you will work closely with supervisors and employees across both first and second shifts to promote safety awareness and support our safety department’s goals.

Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement safety and environmental policies in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
Conduct studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards; prepare reports for company personnel and external agencies.
Inspect facilities to identify existing or potential accident and health hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Provide training and oversee safety and ergonomic committees across all operating companies.
Perform industrial hygiene sampling and participate in accident and injury investigations.
Compile and submit accident reports to regulatory agencies and support the workers’ compensation program.
Create and maintain safety documentation, including OSHA 300 logs and safety files.
Represent the organization in community and industry safety groups and promote safety awareness campaigns such as Rite‑Hite SAFE.
Support quality system and procedures for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One to two years of related industrial safety work experience, or equivalent training.
In‑depth knowledge of state and federal OSHA and EPA regulations.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with supervisors and employees on both shifts.
Valid driver’s license (preferred).
Earnings: $84,300.00 – $109,600.00 annually.
