Assists Store Manager with the store staff; production and sales; store maintenance; customer development; banking and record keeping procedures. Supports Manager in all day to day operations of assigned thrift store. Essential Functions

Supports staff training and supervision as assigned. Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and scheduling staff; monitors payroll processing; ensures compliance with TSA policies on employee relations; forwards employment paperwork to the HR Department at the ARC; provides training and support to beneficiaries assigned to the store as part of their work therapy.

Supports implementation of strategies to meet production and sales goals. Supervises donation processing, production (sorting, hanging, pricing, presentation), and sales processes; ensures proficiency across acquisition, production, and sales; supervises product rotation and turnover; communicates with central warehouse to place orders for next day’s processing needs.

Assists manager with store maintenance and appearance with regard to safety, security, cleanliness, appearance, and utility; ensures compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safety and security policies; verifies displays and floor layouts are followed and updated; identifies improvements to store appearance and customer appeal; implements Product Control Procedures to prevent shrinkage.

Records and reporting: assists in store recordkeeping; applies TSA cash handling procedures for opening/closing registers; assists with bank runs and deposits; reports production and sales; uses inventory tracking as assigned.

Communicates store operations updates to the Store Manager and ARC Department Heads; shared incidents, concerns, and ideas as outlined in training; works with the store manager to keep income and expenses within budget; manages cash handling procedures per TSA policy; participates in training for all store employees as needed.

Customer development and retention: creates an enjoyable shopping experience; interacts positively with customers and sets a standard for staff behavior.

Travel and scheduling: must be available for a flexible schedule including early/late shifts and weekends as required for training and operations.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supports training and supervision of store staff; documents and reports on direct reports for personnel reviews and corrective action; reviews and approves time and attendance using the current payroll system; monitors time logs in accordance with regulations and trainings. Physical Requirements
