Overview
The position of Post Doctoral Scholar in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) offers an excellent opportunity to conduct research in an interdisciplinary team with healthcare professionals, computer science/AI experts, and health communication/implementation science experts. The Post Doctoral Scholar is expected to design and evaluate AI-based systems for clinical decision-making and/or disease management, conduct surveys and interviews with clinicians and patients, write grant proposals, and publish high-quality papers in top computer science journals/conferences and biomedicine journals. The Post Doctoral Scholar will work closely with Dr. Weidan Cao in the College of Medicine and College of Public Health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUMC). The position will be a full-time appointment for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal and promotion dependent on research performance and mutual interests. PhD in related subject areas, such as computer science, information science, and health/biomedical informatics Familiar with qualitative and quantitative research methods in HCI Experience in human-centered design and usability testing Experience in publishing multiple first-author research articles in peer-reviewed HCI conferences such as CHI, CSCW, UIST, IMWUT, or similar Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment, to coordinate and lead part of the research project Experience in designing interactive systems with advanced AI/ML technologies preferred Application Requirements
