About the Work Unit
The Lab in the Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University is seeking a biochemistry research assistant senior to aid in the lab's study of biomolecular condensates. Biomolecular condensates are macroscopic structures that function to spatially organize biological functions and biochemical reactions within the cell. The lab is interested in elucidating mechanisms by which biomolecular condensates are utilized to execute proper animal embryogenesis and development. To understand the function, structure, and regulation of biomolecular condensates the lab utilizes multidisciplinary approaches including biochemistry, biophysical approach, genome editing, cell biology, single‑molecule imaging, and super‑resolution imaging. The work unit is made up of faculty, undergraduate students, and graduate students.
