Job dimensions
Guides Logistics personnel including job assignments, training, scheduling, and OT reduction.
Actively promotes and advances plant safety and PSM improvements though Smart and CARES program
Leads 5S/Housekeeping initiatives in their area and accountable for department personnel doing the same
Champions Continuous Improvement through shop floor use of problem-solving tools (5W1H) and leading Tier meetings.
Effectively communicates gaps with potential solutions and initiatives to engineering, leadership, and operators across all shifts
Develops and challenges Logistics team to improve their respective shifts while providing objective feedback to leadership and operators
Utilizes KPIs to make sound decisions and analyze gaps within process
Creates a positive culture within the department that emphasizes safety, quality, productivity
Leads on-floor implementation of site initiatives such as behavior-based safety, continuous improvement, and 5S
Works with Logistics manager to meet both Shipping and Cycle Count goals that meets customer requirements and allocates plant resources to meet the plan
Sets the tone for the department, ability to have tough conversations with underperforming operators in department
Interacts with Supply Chain and Customer Service teams as needed
Manages Logistics consumables inventory items
Activities
Practice and enforce safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Bostik specific EHS expectations.
Leads and coordinates daily warehouse activities to meet plant OTS goals.
Ensure all available shipping orders have pick lists created for both warehouses.
Adjust distribution of workforce as needed to meet Shipping and Receiving demand or fill in for absence.
Make regular rounds of warehouse floor to identify and correct issues as it pertains to safety, quality, housekeeping and production issues
Lead Logistics team in daily continuous improvement of safety, quality, housekeeping and productivity.
Ensure production floor KPI’s are tracked daily, and corrective actions are identified and implemented.
Reviews training matrix for employees are being filled and that training is advancing in a timely fashion
Leads team-oriented problem solving to identify and eliminate root causes of safety, quality and production concerns using RCA problem solving tools.
Assist in Transportation scheduling, booking, closing shipping and receiving orders including troubleshooting/resolving issues
Ensures completion of weekly cycle counts and train other operators in department on process
Coach on troubleshooting, problem solving and report out on department operator performance
Maintain full compliance and support for overall company policies, procedures and practices.
Complete and ensure Logistics team adheres to site-wide 5S Program.
Driving housekeeping and department improvements withing the logistics team.
Promoting Plant Leadership objectives and executing vision on the ground floor with other operators
Context and Environment
The job is 60% on the shop floor working directly with production employees, 40% administrative duties
Accountabilities
Logistics team adherence to Bostik safety policy and procedures
Ensure Logistics team follows process work instructions to ensure quality of production
Completion of the Shipping plan daily
Qualifications / Experience Required
Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Good time management and multitasking skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Transactional experience within SAP or other ERP system.
Prior fork truck, reach truck, scissor lift and isle stacker experience
Hazardous Material Certifications a plus
