A hybrid wholesaler is a financial sales professional who combines the duties of internal and external wholesalers. They cultivate relationships, drive sales for SMAs, mutual funds, private funds and ETFs using a mix of phone, virtual and in‑person interactions with financial advisors. Key Responsibilities
Territory Management: Strategically manage an assigned territory to maximize sales and promote financial products to a specific segment of financial advisors and broker‑dealers. Sales and Business Development: Identify and qualify new prospects, generate new business and expand sales with existing clients. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with financial advisors and institutional clients through regular phone calls, virtual meetings and limited in‑person travel. Product Consultation: Serve as a subject matter expert by educating advisors on financial products and developing customized solutions for their clients. Cross Collaboration: Partner with other wholesalers, including internal sales desk teams and external wholesalers, to create a seamless "one team" experience for advisors and execute sales strategies. Presentations and Meetings: Deliver compelling presentations, host virtual meetings and attend industry conferences to increase product awareness and drive sales. Administrative Duties: Utilize a CRM system and other sales technology to track activities, manage a pipeline and develop a data‑driven territory business plan. Requirements
Education: A bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field. Experience: 5+ years as an internal wholesaler or in a financial services sales role. Licensing: Relevant FINRA licenses, such as Series 7 and Series 63 or 66, are preferred. Communication: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are essential. Relationship Building: Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with financial professionals. Adaptability: Strong time management and the ability to balance remote outreach with periodic in‑person travel. Technical Aptitude: Proficiency with CRM systems and other financial technology.
