APCO is seeking a motivated and energetic
Outside Sales Representative
to join our growing team. This individual will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and representing APCO’s automation and control system services to industrial clients. The ideal candidate is self-driven, personable, and knowledgeable in technical or industrial environments. This role involves a balance of customer engagement, project scoping, and strategic account management, with regular travel to client locations across Utah and other states. This is a great opportunity for an individual to get into the rapidly growing industrial automation sector, which has a strong industry outlook over the near and long term. APCO has a great reputation in this industry and was awarded the 2024 System Integrator of the Year award. We work across a variety of industries and focus on providing high quality services and fostering long-term relationships with our clients. Key Responsibilities Identify and pursue new business opportunities in industrial automation, controls, SCADA, and related services Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships Conduct client site visits to understand operational needs and propose tailored solutions Collaborate with business development and engineering staff to correctly scope proposals Develop technical quotes and proposals in alignment with client goals and budget Work closely with the Director of Business Development to take the sales process from initial contact to contract close Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote APCO Track opportunities and client interactions in CRM software Report on sales pipeline, forecasts, and market trends to leadership Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience 3+ years of technical sales or business development experience Strong aptitude for technical concepts Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel Familiarity with industrial markets such as water/wastewater, oil & gas, or manufacturing Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, control panels, and instrumentation is preferred, but not required What We Offer Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonuses Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, 401k, paid time off) Mileage reimbursement and travel support Professional growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding industry Supportive and collaborative company culture APCO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
