Our trucks are 2015 or newer. Responsibilities
Operates a flatbed truck up to 53' to transport steel/merchandise. Reads bills of lading to determine assignment details. Inspects loads to ensure cargo is secure and notifies the warehouse if load rebuilding is required for safety. Inventory and inspect goods to determine quantities and conditions. Secures cargo for transport with chains, binders, or tarps as appropriate. Follows safety procedures for transporting oversized loads. Maneuvers trucks into loading/unloading positions, follows signals from the loading crew, and checks that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Operates equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or GPS to exchange information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers. Checks all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Couples or uncouples trailers by adjusting trailer jacks, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks. Checks trailers after contents are unloaded to ensure no damage occurred. Ensures mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles. Maintains logs of working hours or vehicle service/repair status in compliance with state and federal regulations. Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs. Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collects payment for services when required. Minimum of 3 years Class A experience. No major moving violations in the last 2 years. 1 year flatbed experience, most recent pulling 53’ flats and driving 3 axle conventional sleeper trucks; oversized load experience preferred. Knowledgeable in securing all types of flatbed freight with chains, binders, and straps. Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years Class A driving experience. No major moving violations in the last 2 years. 1 year flatbed experience, with recent experience pulling 53’ flats and driving 3-axle conventional sleeper trucks; oversized load experience preferred.
