Capital Convention Contractors is seeking a highly motivated, client-focused Account Executive to lead and support trade shows, expositions, and corporate events from sale through execution. This role bridges strategy and service, working closely with internal teams and clients to build long-term relationships, exceed event expectations, and drive profitable growth. You’ll serve as the client’s trusted advisor while managing pre-show planning, onsite execution, and post-event follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect, solicit, and respond to incoming inquiries for trade shows, corporate events, and special projects (e.g., poster board and drape rentals).
Prepare compelling proposals and close new business while ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event lifecycle.
Develop and nurture long-term client relationships, positioning Capital as a preferred partner.
Project Management & Event Planning
Collaborate with operations, design, and exhibitor services to ensure flawless execution of all assigned events.
Generate service kit requests and follow up on client approvals, distribution, and online exhibitor ordering tools.
Coordinate custom graphics, floorplans, and layouts to meet client objectives.
Draft and process short-form rental agreements and work orders efficiently.
Track event progress using internal sales systems (e.g., booking reports, timelines, invoicing status).
On-Site Execution
Act as the primary on-site contact during critical event phases.
Coordinate on-the-fly client changes with on-site foremen and crew to maintain event quality.
Collaborate with venue personnel and third-party vendors (e.g., AV, electrical, security) to ensure a seamless production.
Represent Capital at the exhibitor service desk as needed and engage directly with exhibitors.
Familiarity with events on a national scale.This roll will involve travel at least 4 times per year outside of New England but not to exceed 6 unless mutually agreed upon.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the trade show, events, or convention services industry (account management, sales, or operations).
Familiarity with floorplan layouts, exhibitor manuals, and production workflows.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to lead and collaborate across departments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally nationally (overnight travel required).
