Overview
The Route Sales Trainer (RST) role at Bimbo Bakeries USA is responsible for achieving people, sales, freshness, and brand growth by leading the execution of DSD Excellence. The RST will support critical market sales initiatives through implementing and overseeing a structured onboarding and training process to develop Route Sales Professionals (RSPs), Independent Business Partners (IBPs), Merchandisers, and 3rd party temporary help, referred to as the frontline. The RST will ensure that the processes demonstrate the vision of Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU). Mindsets & Behaviors

Support achievement of zero workplace injuries by following and coaching all BBU safety principles within the Grupo Bimbo safety platform. Lead and develop the frontline team through structured onboarding and coaching processes, utilizing the proven best practices of BBU. Ensure new frontline members are adept in the foundational capabilities required to perform the RSP or IBP role. Evaluate new frontline members’ performance to ensure onboarding and training are completed efficiently and timely. Responsible for route coverage for unplanned vacancies to minimize disruption to tours. Other duties as assigned. Selling & Operational Capabilities
Coach and orientate the frontline on planning and ordering using the Intelligent Ordering Network (ION). Engage with frontline to establish and ensure proper route sales activities. Maximize frontline efficiencies by applying BBU’s best practices for route sales activities, including distribution, promotional execution, and in-store selling. Develop the frontline’s selling capabilities through training, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback. Encourage a data-driven mindset to evaluate and sell toward secondary displays. Share expertise in connecting with store decision makers for secondary display reach. Merchandising Best Practices
Lead consistent execution of DSDE World-Class principles in the market and sales centers, acting as a brand steward. Coach DSDE standards to ensure adherence to brand and store guidelines. Ensure secondary display opportunities are executed and maintained using DSDE World-Class principles. Key Behavioral Competencies
Ability to engage and inspire frontline to pursue the BBU vision for growth. Ability to train or orientate, and mentor new and veteran frontline members. Ability to empower and involve the frontline in planning and decision making. Ability to engage and develop others through coaching. Ability to adapt to new technology and processes. Ability to support objectives, checkpoints, and timelines to meet onboarding expectations. Ability to lead process change to implement new processes. Education And Work History
High School diploma/GED; bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
4-6 years of working experience with at least 1 year DSD experience preferred but not required. 1-year experience leading and influencing others preferred. Ability to provide a high level of customer service and resolve customer opportunities. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and detail-oriented skills. Knowledge of IBP contracts a plus. Computer skills proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required. Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record. Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card. Travel is required, approximately 25%. Physical Demands
Able to use various communication methods on a frequent basis. Use a notebook computer and standard office equipment. Able to sit, stand, stoop, and have hand-motor coordination regularly. Use various forms of transportation for extended periods on a periodic basis. Frequent walking; lifting up to 25 pounds; push/pull up to 50 pounds. The physical and mental demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job.
