Description

This position is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients of the Center in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. Duties will include a combination of patient care, research, and teaching activities. Examples of Duties

Teaching (20%) Actively precept as teaching physician in the resident outpatient clinics, including patient care, procedural skills, time management, doctor-patient relationship, professionalism, ethics, legal considerations, billing, and coding. Serve as a mentor to family practice residents, reviewing evaluations, chart notes, and providing counseling and advice, with documentation of findings. Conduct and supervise inpatient-teaching rounds. Develop and facilitate core curriculum conferences for the residency program. Service (75%) Provide direct patient care to own panel of patients at the Center. Conduct procedure clinics as needed. Participate in hospitalist family medicine call. Engage in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities. Provide emergency services as needed. Serve on Center-wide and department committees. Participate in community outreach. Attend faculty and resident meetings. Research (5%) Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Complete a minimum of 2 scholarly activities every 5 years as per RRC requirements. Attend and present at national professional meetings. Qualifications

Sensitivity to the needs of underrepresented minority populations. MD or DO degree. Graduation from an accredited residency training program. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine. Licensed to practice in Illinois. Willingness to practice inpatient family medicine and/or obstetrical calls. Supplemental Information
