Behavior Intervention Specialist, Developmental Disabilities. Salary: Min USD $36.00/Hr., Max USD $48.86/Hr. Company Overview: Services for the UnderServed (S:US) provides residential and support services to individuals with special needs. Position Summary: The BIS will assess and monitor challenging behaviors, provide direct behavior analysis and services for people supported in residential settings, and foster self-determination and replacement skills to empower individuals to problem-solve and mobilize their own resources. Mission: Empower persons supported to facilitate self-determination and independence. Responsibilities

BIS conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), as required. BIS develops and reviews a Behavior Support Plan (BSP) semi-annually and updates annually or as needed. BIS coordinates with the IDT team to organize informed consent and changes in the behavior plan regarding restrictions and fading plans to eliminate restrictions. BIS coordinates paperwork for the Informed Consent Committee and obtains HRC approval. BIS reviews and analyzes data to adjust FBAs and BSPs. BIS attends staff meetings monthly, clinical meetings monthly, life plan meetings bi-annually, department meetings monthly, and other meetings as needed. BIS tracks psychiatry appointments, writes psychiatry referrals, and consults with psychiatrists monthly or as needed. BIS attends discharge meetings following psychiatric hospitalization. BIS provides staff training on BSPs and incident-related trainings. BIS completes reports and in-service trainings as needed. Conducts on-site intakes for perspective residents. BIS trains RBTs on BSPs to extend training to staff. BIS participates on committees (IRC, HRC, ICC, CSET, Intake). BIS conducts CSET assessments, travel training assessments, and other assessments as needed. Generates referrals to CSIDD. Provides support to families by attending meetings or via correspondence. Represents the organization positively to outside resources. Ensures behavioral data is collected and documented on the agency’s electronic health platforms (e.g., PrecisionCare and Power BI). LMSW or LCSW provides counseling services to people in the community and at programs under supervision; BIS is responsible for treatment plan development and progress notes as required. Required Education and Experience

A Master’s degree in clinical or treatment fields (psychology, social work, school psychology, applied psychology, or related human services) (required). LMSW/LCSW licensure (required) or eligibility for exemption under NYS Education Law Grandparenting Provisions (required). 2 years of experience working with people with IDD and behavioral health needs (strongly preferred). Preferred Qualifications & Skills
