Job Description Summary The successful applicant will be an Advanced Practice Provider interested in full-time work in the outpatient and inpatient care of patients with cardiac disease. The APP will join a high-paced Cardiology Division. MUSC Health Heart and Vascular Columbia Medical Center Division is known for its cardiac care expertise and serves as a nationally recognized referral center for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiac disease. Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings for cardiac patients, including Heart Transplant and LVAD patients Perform central line and arterial line placement as indicated Take comprehensive histories and conduct physical examinations Assess and manage patients using history, physical findings, radiologic and laboratory results within the scope of practice Document and bill for direct care provided Utilize evidence-based practice and participate in quality/performance improvement activities Support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities Engage in professional development and continuing education; may precept APP students Maintain licenses, certifications, and credentials as required by policies and state law Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current licensure or eligibility as a Physician Assistant, or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility as an APRN Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a PA, FNP or ANP in Cardiology, Critical Care, or Cardiac Surgery Active certification and licensure as applicable (BLS; ACLS; PALS for appropriate inpatient roles) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong communication and teamwork skills Additional Training/Experience (preferred)
AGACNP/ACNP (Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP) with cardiology and electrophysiology exposure 2 years of cardiology and electrophysiology experience preferred Supervision
APRN or PA will report to a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC. Work Hours
40 hours per week; Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm; some weekend call may be required Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; manual dexterity; see and recognize objects at close and distance; ability to work in a latex-safe environment. Equal Opportunity Employer:
