Job Title:
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Responsibilities
Environmental Regulations:
Ensuring the company adheres to environmental laws and regulations, such as waste management, emissions control, and pollution prevention. Health and Safety Laws:
Making sure the workplace complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and other relevant health and safety regulations. Hazard Identification:
Identifying potential environmental and workplace hazards and implementing measures to mitigate them. Incident Investigation:
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence. Employee Training:
Developing and conducting training programs for employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and proper handling of hazardous materials. Awareness Programs:
Promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the company. Safety Programs:
Designing and implementing comprehensive safety programs to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. Skills & Experience
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is usually required. Common fields of study include Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biology, and Public Health. Knowledge of Regulations:
Familiarity with OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations. Hazard Identification:
Ability to identify and assess workplace hazards. Incident Investigation:
Skills in investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions. Risk Assessment:
Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies. Emergency Response:
Knowledge of emergency response planning and procedures. Data Analysis:
