This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling check-in, payment collection, appointment scheduling, and overall front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments and workflows.## ## ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:* Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive experience.* Check patients in for appointments, verify insurance information, and collect payments.* Obtain medical records and authorizations as needed.* Schedule patient appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and conduct patient reminder calls as needed.* Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.* Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.* Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize scheduling and patient flow.* Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.* Troubleshoot scheduling and front desk issues, escalating as appropriate.* Perform additional administrative duties as assigned, such as scanning, filing, and assisting other departments.## QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:* High school diploma or GED **- Required**; Associate’s degree or MA certification - **Preferred.*** 1+ year of experience in a healthcare front desk, medical scheduling, or administrative role **- Required**.* Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new healthcare software quickly.* Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities.## ## DESIREABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE* Familiarity with oncology or radiation oncology workflows.* Familiarity with OncoEMR.* Knowledge of medical terminology.* Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, patient billing, and/or medical record collection.* Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.## ## ABOUT PACIFIC CANCER CARE:Pacific Cancer Care has provided superior care for patients for nearly 50 years.
