A long‑standing, independent mixed practice in County Mayo is now seeking a Farm Animal Vet to join their close‑knit team of five vets. If you’re looking for more clinical autonomy, a varied caseload, and a supportive environment where your development and wellbeing genuinely matter, this could be the perfect role for you.
This is primarily a farm animal‑focused position, with the flexibility to get involved in companion animal work if desired. The practice is proud of its low turnover, team‑first culture, and continued investment in both its people and equipment.

What you’ll be doing:
Clinical cattle work across progressive and traditional farms
Seasonal sheep cases and preventative health care
TB testing and involvement in Herd Health/TASAH programs
Bull fertility testing
Supported use of IMV Easi‑scan and in‑house faecal testing (Ovacyte)
Optional small animal work
Digital X‑ray, ultrasound, dentistry, and in‑house lab
Appointment‑based consults with full Teleos records
Support from a skilled veterinary nursing team
What’s on offer:
Salary starting at €40,000 (commensurate with experience), paid 4‑weekly
Spring and Christmas bonuses
Shared 1‑in‑5 OOH rota (for experienced candidates) – genuinely fair and supported
20 days annual leave plus a Wednesday off after your weekend on call
VCI/VDS fees paid
CPD actively encouraged and fully funded – including certificates
Vehicle provided or mileage paid – phone allowance included
Teleos app for iPhone – instant access to client records OOH
