Fielding Manufacturing-Process Technician, Molding

EXPERIENCE ONLY POSITION SUMMARY: The Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the molding process. The Process Technician assists and supervises all first shift operations to ensure production schedules are met. Essential duties include: Starting up injection molding machines and equipment at the beginning of the shift; ensuring jobs run smoothly within appropriate cycle times and meet quality standards before handing over to operators. Directing daily operations to achieve the planned production schedule; assigning operators to jobs/tasks, planning daily workload, and filling in roles as needed. Relieving operators for scheduled breaks, as necessary. Training department employees on safety, quality, and operating procedures. Communicating and documenting all process changes; clearly conveying approved deviations from standard workflows. Performing job changeovers, including teardown of previous jobs and setup of new ones, following standard procedures and checklists. Safely installing dies on machines to support production schedules; assisting with mold insert changes as required. Setting up and servicing all workstations within the Molding Department according to established, documented standard process parameters. Managing raw material inventory; preparing materials for processing through blending, mixing, and drying, according to standard parameters. Ensuring all products meet quality specifications through in-process inspections as per the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP). Ensuring products are packaged and labeled correctly according to specifications. Performing minor troubleshooting to maintain quality standards during production. Optimizing process parameters to produce quality parts and improve cycle times. Recommending and supporting process and workflow improvement projects. Monitoring department operations to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures, taking corrective actions as needed. Purging injection molding machines and following approved shutdown procedures at shift end. Adhering to Fielding Manufacturing’s ISO 9001 standards to ensure quality and operational excellence.
