Division Overview Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, and teas, including new energy drinks. The division leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies and a large printable surface area for branding impact. This role is with the Crown Beverage Division. Location Olympia Position Overview The Electrical Supervisor works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished product. This supervisory role includes daily supervision of plant electricians and management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations, and equipment installation. Duties and Responsibilities Applies electrical theory to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and control equipment in an industrial plant setting. Oversees assembly and testing of motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment per engineering data and electrical principles. Diagnoses causes of electrical or mechanical malfunction and performs preventative and corrective actions. Develops diagrams, drawings, and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance. Plans and directs periodic testing; recommends modification or replacement of equipment as needed. Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches, and assesses employees. Supports and encourages safe, efficient, and effective work practices. Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned. Job Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent; two or more related co-op or internship assignments in a manufacturing setting may substitute for 5–7 years of work experience. Three to five years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment. At least two years of supervisory experience. Working knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, and DC drives. Installation, setup, and programming of PLCs. Ability to design, modify, and plot using AutoCAD. Process control systems setup and programming (Honeywell). Instrumentation and calibration knowledge. Facility power distribution knowledge. Knowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and cooling). Knowledge of control systems and sub-systems. Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Approximately 5% overnight travel. Preferred Requirements Packaging industry experience. Electrical Journeyman certification. Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt). Ability to work independently or in a team. Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative approach. People and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate and support others. Creative thinking and the ability to look for new solutions. Effective leadership, conflict resolution, communication, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate people. Excellent time management and project management skills; ability to multi-task. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, etc. Commitment to safety, quality, and knowledge of industrial electrical systems and devices; positive attitude and willingness to learn. Mechanical aptitude and relevant skills. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms; may balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Plant environment with some work in a typical office setting. Exposure to power sources, moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, and a wide range of temperatures.
