This role will be based in our Tempe, AZ office, with a primary focus on delivering high-level project engineering and management support for our water infrastructure projects. Here's how a Construction Engineer for our Civil Infrastructure office contributes to our team: Organizing and hosting Engineering Kickoff meetings with the project team. Providing assessment reports post Kickoff meeting. Performing routine inspections and reviews of the project's engineering progress, including spot checks of submittal review accuracy, progress, and approval performance. Ensuring projects adhere to and utilize PCL engineering SOPs and record keeping standards. Reviewing and collaborating with the project team on all high-risk submittals. Being an on-call resource for any project-related construction or project engineering questions and issues. Developing standardized District Project Engineering SOPs and working with the PCL Project Systems Champion to incorporate these into PM4, Autodesk Cloud, and future PCL systems. Aiding in project pursuits, including background research, understanding development, and proposal schedule creation in collaboration with the CED Scheduling Manager. Collaborating with the Estimating department during preconstruction, including design review, value engineering, contract writing, procurement of long-lead items, and other pre-construction tasks. Managing and providing training and oversight to the newest CED Engineers on assigned work. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field. 5–8 years of progressive construction experience, with leadership and mentoring preferred. Experience in implementing a strong safety culture, applying health, safety, and environmental principles and legislation. In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including materials, specifications, methods, procedures, law, codes, and safety and quality practices. Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including managing budgets and schedules. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
