In this hands-on leadership role, you will work in a fully in-person capacity at our Los Angeles facility. You will serve as the Electrical Engineer Lead (Sr.) for Oasis-1, owning avionics and electrical architecture, power distribution, harnessing, and electrical interfaces to the satellite, dispenser, and MK1. You will lead board- and box-level design and build, own electrical ICDs and EBOMMBOM fidelity, plan and execute environmental and EMI/EMC testing, and support AIT through delivery. You will collaborate closely with the Design & Integration Lead, Systems, Instrument, Software, and Mission Assurance/Quality to finalize design, conduct V&V, and support commissioning and anomaly resolution during operations.We value self-motivated, hands-on leaders who can find practical solutions to abstract problems. + Own the instrument electrical architecture, including power distribution/protection, data interfaces, grounding/bonding/shielding, and thermal/electrical derating.
+ Deliver baselined power and interface budgets, electrical block diagrams, and acceptance criteria aligned to system requirements.* **Board-/box-level design and build**
+ Lead schematic/PCB design, EEE parts selection and derating, harness and connector design, and vendor build packages; guide PCB layout for signal integrity and EMC.
+ Deliver released design packages (schematics, layouts, BoMs), manufacturing data, fabrication/assembly travelers, and as-built records.* **Interfaces and ICDs**
+ Define and maintain electrical ICDs between instruments, satellite, dispenser, and MK1; manage configuration and changes through JCB/CCB processes with Systems and D&I.
+ Deliver CM-controlled ICDs, interface verification plans, and compliance evidence at SRR/PDR/CDR and QR/DR.* **Verification, environmental, and EMI/EMC testing**
+ Plan and execute ATP/ATR, TVAC, vibration/shock, functional and performance tests, and EMI/EMC campaigns; coordinate independent test witnessing with MA/Q.
+ Deliver artifacts, test procedures/reports, discrepancy tracking and closures, and qualification/acceptance summaries.* **Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT)**
+ Support assembly, integration, and test of the instruments; lead electrical bring-up, diagnostics, and nonconformance resolution; support integration to satellite, dispenser, and MK1.
+ Deliver integration procedures, electrical checklists, NCR/MRB inputs, and integration test reports.* **Firmware/software and data handling integration**
+ Coordinate with Software on DAQ/command/telemetry interfaces, time sync, and fault management hooks; support HIL benches and closed-loop simulations for interface validation.
+ Deliver verified interface implementations, telemetry definitions, and contributions to ConOps and operations procedures.* **Reliability, radiation, and quality**
+ Perform TID/SEE assessments, derating and reliability predictions, and FMEA/FTA inputs; implement component traceability and acceptance criteria with MA/Q.
+ Deliver radiation and reliability analyses, FMEA/FTA contributions, CoC/CoQ packages, and audit-ready CM records.* **Reviews and change control**
+ Lead electrical content for gated reviews; maintain configuration baselines and execute approved changes via CCB/JCB.
+ Deliver review packages, minutes/action closures, ECNs, and configuration audit records.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).* 8+ years of spacecraft or high-reliability avionics development, including board-/box-level design, power electronics, and harnessing through environmental test and delivery.* Demonstrated ownership of electrical architecture, ICDs, and EBOMMBOM configuration management; experience operating within formal reviews and change-control processes.* Hands-on experience with TVAC, vibration/shock, and EMI/EMC test planning/execution and troubleshooting.* Proficiency with ECAD and analysis tools (e.g., Altium/Mentor/KiCad, SPICE, signal/power integrity) and version control/CM tools.* Experience with EEE parts selection, derating, and radiation considerations (TID/SEE) for small satellite missions.* Strong cross-functional collaboration with systems, mechanical, software, and quality; clear written and verbal communication.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; 10+ years of relevant experience.* SmallSat/CubeSat heritage integrating payload avionics to commercial satellite buses and dispensers; experience with rideshare integration.* Depth in power system design (DC/DC converters, protection/latch-up mitigation, heater control) and high-speed digital/analog mixed-signal design.* Experience with EMI/EMC design and test to aerospace standards; grounding/bonding/shielding best practices.* Familiarity with space interfaces and data links (e.g., LVDS, SpaceWire, CAN, RS‑422) and timing/synchronization for telemetry.* Experience generating and maintaining electrical ICDs to satellite and launch vehicle; participation in launch campaign electrical readiness.* Background in reliability modeling, FMEA/FTA, and component radiation/derating standards.* Experience leading electrical content through gated reviews with audit-ready artifacts; contributions to ConOps and operations procedures### Compensation Range for:CA applicants is $152,235.00-$213,127.95**Other site ranges may differ****Culture Statement****Export Control #J-18808-Ljbffr
