The Somerset mill emphasizes safety, sustainability, quality, and innovation. Overview: The operational Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (BB) / Associate Black Belt position is a leadership role based at the Somerset Mill. The LSS BB has proven success as a Green Belt or Black Belt, consistently achieving business results, and collaborating with mill management teams, project sponsors, and key stakeholders. The LSS Black Belt is responsible for leading complex, high-value projects aimed at reducing variable and fixed costs, interfacing with internal and external customers and suppliers. The incumbent will provide training across all levels of the business to facilitate major change, coach, mentor, and train Green Belts and process improvement teams, demonstrating mastery of a broad range of Process Improvement/Lean Six Sigma tools. Responsibilities: Complete LSS projects on time, record project details in tracking systems, and adhere to project timelines to achieve savings with Green Belt support. Influence without authority to implement improvements and promote continuous improvement. Train, mentor, and coach Green Belts and teams, from project prioritization and selection through completion and sustainability. Support change management during project execution. Build partnerships within Somerset and support manufacturing in daily operational needs. Lead organizational LSS initiatives, including opportunity identification, productivity reviews, and project pipeline management. Present project updates at monthly productivity reviews with the Mill Lead Team. Provide targeted training or tool application for functional areas upon leadership request in Process Improvement. Special Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective communicator at all organizational levels, including senior leadership. Skilled in leading senior teams to identify major change opportunities. Proficient in influencing and leading teams at multiple levels within the organization. Adept at strategy influence and leading major change using change management tools and skills. Competent in applying the full range of LSS tools as situations require. Capable of leading, teaching, coaching, and mentoring employees in Lean and Six Sigma concepts, project identification, implementation, and follow-up. Entry Requirements Four-year degree in Engineering Minimum of four years of business experience in the pulp and paper industry Salary is determined based on factors including the job's value to the organization, market conditions, internal equity, and skills.
