We are seeking a
Fiber Splicing Manager
to lead and grow our splicing operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for managing fiber splicing projects and teams from start to finish—balancing operational oversight with technical expertise. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands fiber optic splicing techniques, can manage multiple crews and projects, and is motivated to drive quality, safety, and efficiency across the organization. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity with significant growth potential. Role and Responsibilities
Oversee all fiber splicing projects from planning through completion. Hire, train, and supervise fiber splicers, technicians, and support staff according to project needs. Provide production forecasts and progress updates to GRC/Vero project management teams. Maintain accurate production statuses and statistics in Vero’s proprietary project management platform. Ensure all fiber splicing work meets industry standards, client specifications, and project deadlines. Support preventive and emergency maintenance of network assets, including locates, route drives, damage prevention, and repairs. Troubleshoot, test, and certify fiber optic cables to verify performance and integrity. Maintain splicing equipment, tools, and inventory in optimal condition. Document installations, test results, and project progress accurately. Enforce company and regulatory safety protocols (DOT, OSHA, state/local). Serve as primary client contact for splicing-related work, ensuring customer satisfaction. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality. Travel is required to support projects (approx. 50%). Qualifications
At least 5 years of managing splicing teams. Organize the splicing for the region and making sure that the teams are splicing fiber and tracking all elements of each project. Strong understanding of OSP (outside plant) construction techniques and industry standards. Proven success leading underground and aerial fiber optic construction projects. Proficiency in fiber optic splicing techniques, testing, and troubleshooting. Excellent leadership, training, and team management skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Maps, Earth) and project management tools. Valid driver’s license required. Preferred Skills
Vocational training or degree in telecommunications, electronics, or related field. Experience working with permitting agencies, inspectors, and municipalities. Process-oriented with a focus on documentation and continuous improvement. Job Type:
