Position Summary: As a Freight Broker at Precision Freight, you will develop, maintain, and grow relationships between customers, shippers, consignees, and carriers. This fast-paced, high-energy role has the potential to make a significant impact on the supply chain every day. You will be responsible for quoting, coordinating, and controlling the movement of customer-supplied products with a strong focus on quality standards and customer satisfaction. This role primarily focuses on managing customer accounts in all aspects of supply chain management and optimizing the productivity and efficiency of Precision Freight's carriers. There is a strong focus on client networking, negotiating pricing, and handling hotshots, truckloads, and special projects.

What You’ll Do

Coordinate and oversee the transportation of goods, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.

Develop and nurture relationships with shippers and carriers to foster long-term partnerships.

Source carriers, negotiate competitive rates, and secure transportation services that align with customer needs.

Handle customer accounts by providing tailored logistics solutions and maintaining high-quality service levels.

Actively network with clients and prospective customers, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and new business.

Address issues related to shipment delays, carrier performance, and logistics challenges, providing solutions swiftly.

Handle hotshot, truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and specialized shipments with high levels of customer interaction.

Prepare documents, including bills of lading, freight quotes, and contracts, while ensuring compliance with transportation laws and safety standards.

What You Bring to the Table

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Freight Broker or in a similar logistics role.

Proven ability to provide top-tier customer service to both shippers and carriers.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and negotiation abilities.

Exceptional attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.

Knowledge around managing various types of shipments, including hotshots, FTL, and LTL.

Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), load boards, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to commute to Itasca, IL for daily operations.
