Supervisor of Mechanical Design Responsibilities

Produce and check CAD drawings of design items, parts, and components of complex equipment, assemblies, steel frames, connections, piping, and pressure parts using knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing methods. Provide guidance to designers, drafters, and outsource work products. Review drawings during the process for design integrity and cost-effectiveness, considering fabrication and construction requirements. Communicate with fabricators, vendors, construction personnel, and other groups as needed. Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models for new and revised designs. Create accurate, cost-effective designs, arrangements, layouts, and studies adhering to standards and practices. Ensure compliance of drawings, BOMs, and designs with applicable codes, standards, ISO instructions, and customer specifications. Monitor vendor work products, including schedule, budget, scope, and technical review. Analyze customer specifications to ensure design compliance. Participate in meetings with customers' engineering teams and other stakeholders. Lead mechanical roles in proposals and develop drawings in response to customer requests. Track hours and provide feedback on project expenditures. Collaborate with managers and design leads to discuss team performance, new concepts, and resource needs. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members. Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience. Experience with Navisworks (model integration, clash checks). Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Plant 3D (including spec generation, modeling, isometric drawings, BOMs). Experience with AutoCAD Inventor and Vault. Proven experience in piping, ductwork, pressure parts, or similar design work. Ability to generate piping layouts, isometric drawings, and pipe support details. Excellent analytical and computer skills. Organized, able to work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
