RefrigerationEngineer
to its team, with the position based in one of our offices located in Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, Cincinnati, OH, Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, Lexington, KY or Louisville, KY.

Who we want… (Requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Engineering License is required.
3+ years of experience in refrigeration design; preference for food and beverage processing facilities and cold storage.
Basic understanding of discipline-specific codes and standards, such as IMC, IIAR, ASHRAE, and NFPA.
Strong interest in refrigeration systems and building mechanical design.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit; willingness to learn BIM workflows and load calculation tools.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and demonstrate professional integrity.
Eager to grow professionally and contribute to multidisciplinary coordination efforts.
Qualifications What we expect… (Essential Functions)
Assist in the design and documentation of refrigeration systems under the supervision of senior engineers.
Support the development of design approaches for ammonia, CO₂, and synthetic refrigeration systems, including temperature and humidity control strategies.
Participate in system evaluations for condition, capacity, and efficiency, contributing to reports and recommendations.
Help generate layouts, sizing, and equipment selections for primary and secondary refrigeration systems (e.g., chilled water, glycol, brine).
Use AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools to draft refrigeration and process cooling designs.
Assist in preparing design criteria and bid packages for subcontractor pricing.
Collaborate with senior engineers to review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and perform site visits.
Attend internal and client meetings to gain exposure to project coordination and communication.
Contribute to the updating of engineering standards and participate in team knowledge sharing.
Begin involvement in industry organizations such as IIAR, RETA, and ASHRAE to support professional development.
