General Neurology (Finance)

This position serves as a General Neurologist in the Department of Neurology at the University of South Florida, at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be academically oriented and responsible for providing comprehensive medical care and health counseling to patients. Additional responsibilities include conducting health seminars, offering consultative health services, and participating in educational activities. This role provides opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

For Associate/Full Professor - normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent.

Obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the assigned hospitals.

Participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical - 90%:

Provide outpatient and inpatient medical care, conduct examinations, diagnosis, and treatment, and prepare medical records. Conduct health counseling in preventative medicine.

Teaching - 5%:

Educate fellows, residents, and medical students in the Department of Neurology.

Other - 5%:

Perform other duties as assigned, including administrative activities and representing the university as needed.
