Bechtel is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility in Port Arthur, Texas. The project includes two LNG trains, two LNG Storage Tanks, one LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities.
Job Summary:
The Rigging Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the rigging discipline, ensuring construction performance follows specifications, schedules, and budgets. Major Responsibilities:
Provide ES&H leadership to personnel assigned to their department. Ensure crane and rigging operations comply with applicable procedures, OSHA standards, and regulations. Manage site cranes, COE's, and crane operator qualification programs. Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices, and take corrective action. Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices. Plan manpower and equipment required to execute the job, and monitor craft activities. Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs. Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities. Education and Experience Requirements:
University/B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management plus 5 years of experience or 8+ years of equivalent industry experience. Experience on an LNG construction site, especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience. Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generating station construction is preferred. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving ability. Required Knowledge and Skills:
Certified rigger/signal person. NCCCO, NCCCER, or equivalent. Certified crane operator, NCCCO, NCCER, or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret crane manufacturer's operator manual and load charts. Experienced in safe use and inspection of rigging hardware. Bechtel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
