Overview
Cardiology Inpatient APP - Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute Union, Monroe, NC. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role with an expected schedule of 7 on / 7 off rotation and holidays required. The department is part of Atrium Health / Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, a large cardiac program with multiple subspecialties. Responsibilities
Autonomous member of a team-based care model, operating at top of license on the inpatient general cardiology service. Provide in-hospital care under supervision of the service line physician for patients on the cardiology service, including general cardiology, interventional, and heart failure patients. Rounding and inpatient service triage; evaluate new and established patients from the ER and on the cardiovascular service; diagnose, treat, and manage common cardiovascular conditions. Perform history and physical exams, document with progress notes, order workups, and ensure compliance with hospital and payer requirements. Order and coordinate diagnostic studies (e.g., echocardiograms, stress tests, MRIs, CTs, cardiac catheterization when indicated). Explain necessity, preparation, risks, and benefits of diagnostics and procedures to patients and families. Recognize and respond to emergency situations; participate in evaluations with supervising physicians as directed by state laws. Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program; current NC NP or PA licensure; current prescriptive privileges and DEA license; BLS/ACLS certified. Acute Care Certification required for NPs; NCCPA certification for PAs. All licenses and certifications must comply with Hospital Credentialing requirements. 1+ year of experience as a provider, preferably in Cardiology. Ability to work calmly in emergencies and operate autonomously as a provider. Position Details
Actual daily duties include rounding, triage, and patient throughput on cardiology service. Coverage includes medicine/surgical floors, cardiovascular telemetry unit, CVICU, med/surg ICU, Emergency Department, and cardiovascular OBS unit. Night or weekend support not specified; schedule indicates 7on/7off with holidays required. About the Practice
The SHVI Union campus is a 182-bed tertiary care center with subspecialty support in Monroe, NC, with easy access to Charlotte and surrounding areas. Team includes approximately 10 physicians and 4 APPs with subspecialties in interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, advanced heart failure, electrophysiology, and advanced imaging. Pay and Benefits
