Overview
Non-Credit Lecturer for the Cannabis Retail Certificate Program. CT State Community College Three Rivers is developing a pool of applicants for potential part-time teaching positions in the non-credit course offerings in Cannabis Industry. Classes may be taught on ground and/or online. This position is filled on an as-needed basis and is part of continuous recruitment. Position Details CT State Community College is developing a pool of applicants for potential part-time teaching positions in the Continuing Education and Workforce Development within the non-credit division. The Non-Credit Lecturer must meet all teaching expectations as outlined by the Director of Workforce Development.
Position Summary The Cannabis Retail Certificate Instructor will offer students the fundamental skills required to work professionally in this growing industry, including plant and human biology relating to cannabis, product and delivery methods, customer service, dosing and titration strategies, and best practices for security and transportation. The instructor provides classroom instruction and may develop curriculum as needed to respond to workforce needs.

Classroom instruction.
Prepare syllabi, course outlines and materials according to curriculum.
Use of Blackboard (learning management system) for instruction.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree or a combination of education, training and experience that would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties.
Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:
Related work experience within the cannabis industry.
Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. Experience with reflective, interactive, culturally responsive pedagogical teaching techniques. Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong information technology literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
