General Summary of Position
MedStar Health is looking for a Radiology Technologist to join our MedStar Health Urgent Care team! As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties in MedStar Health settings consistent with policies & procedures. You will work under the supervision of a physician, performing patient intake, standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up. You may also administer oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications when ordered by a provider, after demonstrating competency. Certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) as Radiologic Technologists will also perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. This position involves documenting appropriately in the medical record and supporting optimal patient flow. Adheres to MedStar Health Code of Conduct and Compliance plan;
complies with governmental and accreditation guidelines, completing all scheduled training including safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, general compliance, harassment, and service. Cleans, stocks, sterilizes equipment, and prepares patient rooms. Provides patient care with high regard for safety and quality. Embraces new technology and electronic health records.
Manages patient flow with communication, performs tests like spirometry/PFTs, vitals, BMI, EKGs, vision/hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under supervision. Follows up on lab tests, clinical results, and patient experience in a professional manner. Performs venipuncture and selected laboratory tests.
Performs X-rays according to provider orders, maintains equipment, and adheres to safety standards. Communicates professionally and promotes respect. Provides care aligned with MedStar's mission,
exceeding expectations to foster patient confidence and loyalty. Assists with patient discharge and supports new initiatives to improve care and patient experience. Supports team members during downtime or bottlenecks.
Participates in basic computer and front desk patient intake. Supports providers in examination, testing, and education. Under supervision, prepares and administers medications and injections after demonstrating competency. Qualifications:
Associate degree Completion of an approved R.T. program Externship in a medical or ambulatory setting 2 years of medical office experience (preferred) ARRT Certification State license (MD, VA, or DC) BLS certification This position has a hiring range of $29.15 - $51.68.
