Overview Indiana University Health Medical Group South Region is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collaborative team of three Physicians and two Advanced Practice Providers in our Inpatient Neuro-Hospitalist unit in Bloomington, Indiana.

Position Highlights

Schedule: As needed to cover for absences due to illness and vacation, staffing shortages, or busy periods

100% inpatient

Call (phone-only) includes ED/inpatients

This experienced candidate will provide in-house clinical care for patients with dementia, stroke, multiple sclerosis, migraines and Parkinson's disease. The candidate will interact closely with the Emergency Department, inpatient providers and staff seeking a neurology consult for new or established neurology service patients. The candidate will answer questions regarding potential differential diagnoses, determine testing needs and interventions/treatments as well as follow results and provide patient education.

Qualifications

Educational background consistent with requirements for NP/PA licensure and certification in the state of Indiana, required

Neurology, Neurosurgery, ICU/CCU experience preferred

The new IU Health Bloomington Hospital and Regional Academic Health Center opened in December 2021. The facility offers a personalized approach to inpatient services (including intensive care, complex surgeries and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services), outpatient services with leading-edge diagnostic testing, flexible space in the emergency department for post-care observation, a dedicated trauma center and a cancer infusion center.

At the same time, the facility strengthens healthcare education by providing space for collaboration and coordination of care and teaching. Students and trainees frequently come to the hospital side of the facility for clinical experiences.
