The Clinical Instructor supervises or manages students in clinical practice relevant to allied health fields at a Community College. Responsibilities include teaching in clinical settings, correlating clinical education with didactic content, providing direct instruction, evaluating clinical competence, and maintaining student records. Example Duties
Under the direction of the Program Director, contribute to an effective practicum by performing essential functions in: Teach in accordance with approved course descriptions, learning outcomes, and schedules. Clinical practicum administration Establish and maintain records for each student. Oversee clinical competency examinations, monitor progress, and maintain comprehensive student performance records. Advise students on clinical performance and progress. Clinical instruction Adhere to clinical instruction guidelines aligned with the program’s didactic and clinical content. Conduct and oversee clinical demonstrations and lab sessions. Maintain quality and accreditation standards of clinical instruction. Teach in accordance with approved course descriptions and learning outcomes. This posting includes qualifications, experience, and skills but is not limited to full specifications stated in the job description. The candidate may perform some or all functions. Incumbents typically work in clinical facilities, classrooms, and offices. Travel to clinical sites (e.g., hospitals) may be required, and multiple sites may be involved. Ability to drive a private vehicle or arrange transportation is expected. Minimum Qualifications
Degree requirements in the related professional discipline, certification/licensure in the field, and one or more years of clinical experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required competencies. Certification or licensure may be required. Experience in clinical instruction. Experience conducting and overseeing student clinical demonstrations and lab sessions. Candidates must be able to work effectively with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. Strong oral/written communication skills and information technology literacy (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Preferred Qualifications
