- 50% FTE; 20 hours per week
- Day Shift**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**This position is for a pediatric audiologist at the Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD) at the University of Washington Medical Center.
IHDD provides an interdisciplinary team approach where we offer a comprehensive evaluation and support for individuals and families navigating neurodevelopmental disabilities and ongoing care. The UW LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disorders) training program is an integral part of the faculty and staff approach to care and training.**PRIMARY JOB** ****RESP**ONSIBILITIES:*** Administers and interprets developmentally appropriate behavioral and physiological audiological measures for screening and comprehensive assessment.* Assesses need for and recommends habilitation options including but not limited to medical referrals, hearing technology, educational needs and associated therapeutic intervention.* Appropriately selects, verifies and validates appropriate hearing technology.* Communicates with families regarding findings and provides intervention and referral options in family-centered language and practice.* Documents assessments in the electronic medical record with accurate and clear professional language.* Communicates and collaborates with other professionals at IHDD, UW Medicine, and throughout the community to support patients and their families.* Provides education and consultation to medical students/residents and UW Medicine primary care providers as well as IHDD faculty and LEND trainees.* Mentors audiology graduate students through guidance, evaluation and feedback.* Utilizes clinical protocols, equipment guidelines and national guidelines to support evidence-based practice.* Participates in infection control, safety and educational programs.**REQUIREMENTS**Licensed by the State of Washington as a Speech Language Pathologist or Audiologist.A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing AssociationANDTwo years of experience as an audiologist, or equivalent.OR Equivalent education/experience.**ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKE**UW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
