Overview Providence Mother and Baby Clinics is seeking an On-Call Certified Nurse Midwife or Family Nurse Practitioner to join their lactation-focused outpatient practice. The role serves postpartum mother/baby dyads during the postpartum period, providing post-discharge follow-up with ongoing lactation support. You will work closely with pediatricians and OB/GYN providers to support families who elect to breastfeed. This on-call position requires a minimum commitment of 4 days per month, including 2 full weekends (Saturday and Sunday) each month, and coverage of one summer and one winter holiday. There is no after-hours call. Lactation Consultants provide coverage at Providence Portland Medical Center, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Providence Reed’s Crossing Clinic, and Providence Willamette Falls.

Responsibilities

On-Call schedule includes two full weekends each month, plus one summer and one winter holiday each year.

No call required after 6:00 pm.

Provide postpartum/post-discharge lactation-focused care for mother/baby dyads in the outpatient setting.

Collaborate with pediatricians and OB/GYN providers to deliver follow-up care and lactation support for families who breastfeed.

Operate in a multi-site environment (Providence Portland Medical Center, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Providence Reed’s Crossing Clinic, Providence Willamette Falls).

Support new graduates: Open to new graduate CNMs or FNPs with postpartum or pediatric RN experience.

Licensure and certification: CNM or FNP licensure, DEA licensure, PEARS certification; IBCLC certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire with Providence financial assistance.

Providence provides malpractice liability insurance.

Qualifications

CNM or FNP credentialing required.

Open to new graduates with relevant postpartum or pediatric RN experience.

DEA licensure and PEARS certification.

IBCLC certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire (financial assistance provided by Providence).
