Emergency Medicine Physician Nocturnists Career Opportunity – Louisville, KY The Norton Healthcare Emergency Medicine Department is recruiting board-certified or board-eligible emergency medicine physicians, specifically nocturnists. The selected candidates will join more than 60 physicians and 40 advanced practice providers in the emergency departments at our five adult-service hospitals in Louisville, Kentucky. Norton Healthcare offers quality, comprehensive care to over 180,000 patients annually across Greater Louisville and throughout Kentucky. In 2024, an average of 15,000 visits a month were made across these facilities. Norton Healthcare is a DNV-accredited health care system with comprehensive centers of excellence across our adult-service facilities, including orthopedics and spine, stroke, heart and vascular, and more. Using a collaborative care model, our team strives to drive efficiency and reach for innovation in emergency medicine care pathways. Norton Healthcare's highly trained adult emergency medicine staff works at emergency departments in five adult-service hospitals in Louisville, among them award-winning chest pain centers and regional stroke receiving centers. Norton Brownsboro Hospital has received national recognition as a comprehensive stroke center, and Norton Audubon Hospital has achieved heart care center national distinction of excellence. Our staff works in collaboration with other specialists and inpatient care teams to provide 24/7, streamlined emergency care to our patients. - Jeffrey L. McAfee, M.D., Executive Medical Director, Norton Healthcare Emergency Medicine About the Position Candidates must be board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, or eligible for certification. Locations covered include Norton Audubon Hospital, Norton Brownsboro Hospital, Norton Hospital, Norton West Louisville Hospital, and Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Shifts are typically eight to ten hours, with flexibility to work full-time or part-time; day shift or nocturnist models are available. We offer a collaborative work model with an advanced practice provider team, continuing medical education (CME) opportunities within Norton Healthcare, funds for additional CME, and potential student loan forgiveness with our not-for-profit status. A $30,000 sign-on bonus and $10,000 to $15,000 relocation assistance are available.
