St. Ann’s Community is currently looking for a Per Diem Stationary Engineer for the Irondequoit Campus. The purpose of this position is to operate and maintain the HVAC and mechanical equipment such as computer-controlled energy management systems, air compressors, diesel-powered emergency generators, electrical motors, hot water boilers, and steam boilers to provide for utilities supplying heat, light, power, gas, and domestic water for St. Ann’s Community. St. Ann’s Community Offers: Competitive Wages - $25.25 - $32.15/hr. 403 (b) Retirement Plan Paid Sick leave Short term disability Responsibilities: Operate valves and controls on hot water and steam boilers to supply hot water and steam for laundry, dietary, and general domestic requirements. Manage emergency electrical generator systems. Control equipment flow of fuel for boilers, fire pumps, and engine-generators. Maintain central air-conditioning units, chillers, refrigeration equipment, and cooling towers. Adjust steam and hot water boilers as load demands. Monitor water in boiler, expansion tanks, and hot water tanks. Oversee feed water systems and sump pumps. Operate sewage lift stations. Manage pneumatic control systems. Handle all supply, exhaust, and air-conditioning fans. Monitor and record temperature and pressures of operating equipment. Maintain chemical condition of boiler, heating/cooling loop, and cooling tower water, and chemically treat water as necessary. Ensure proper working order of power plant equipment through preventive maintenance procedures. Keep SAH and Heritage boiler rooms and all mechanical spaces neat, clean, and orderly. Perform painting, cleaning, and maintenance of floors and equipment as directed. Coordinate goals and expectations set by the Power Plant & Maintenance Manager. Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and materials necessary for repairs and preventive maintenance. Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, fans, and other assigned equipment. Change or adjust belts and air filters as necessary. Check, adjust, and tighten bolts, nuts, and hardware as necessary. Open and close access doors on fireside of boilers for inspection and repair. Open and close hand-holes and manholes of waterside of boiler for inspection and repair. Clean fireside of boilers using powered tube cleaning machines, wire brushing, and vacuuming. Open and close end bells of chiller equipment for inspections as necessary. Clean heat exchangers on chiller equipment using powered tube cleaning machines, wire brushing, and power washing equipment. Perform minor maintenance repairs during weekends and evening/night shifts in the absence of a mechanic. Contact and direct the on-call maintenance mechanic when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned or required by manager. Candidate Requirements: Up to date CLASS 3 Stationary Engineers License -
