The Mannik & Smith Group (MSG) is growing our Transportation team and seeking a
Structural Detailer
to support bridge and culvert projects. If you have a strong eye for detail, CAD expertise, and a passion for helping bring transportation structures from design to reality, this is the perfect role to advance your career.
This position is available in any of MSG's offices in
Michigan
or
Ohio .
Key Responsibilities
As a
Structural Detailer , you’ll focus on producing
accurate, construction-ready structural details
for bridges and culverts:
Develop detailed structural drawings and plans using
AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer (MicroStation)
Translate engineering designs into
precise, buildable plans
for construction teams
Assist engineers in
bridge and culvert projects , ensuring plans meet MDOT and client requirements
Maintain organized documentation and track revisions to ensure project accuracy
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supporting transportation engineers and designers
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise What You Bring
4+ years of experience
as a structural detailer or CAD drafter in transportation/structural projects
Proficiency in
AutoCAD and OpenRoads ORD (MicroStation)
Experience in
bridge and culvert design documentation
Familiarity with
MDOT or MDOT LAP standards
Strong
organization, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers and other team members
