is seeking a senior-level
Structural/Certified Welding Engineer
for a long-term opportunity in Austin, TX. This position offers excellent pay, benefits, and the chance to work with one of Austin’s premier companies. Local candidates with strong manufacturing engineering and welding backgrounds are preferred, but we are open to discussing opportunities for travelers as well. Key Responsibilities:
Welding Procedure Development:
Develop and document procedures in compliance with requirements derived from: AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1: Structural Welding Code Steel ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) B31.3: Process Piping Standard Develop and document PQR and WPS for structural steel and pipe under AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3. Develop and document welding inspection/testing procedures under these codes. Provide a detailed implementation plan to execute the scope of work. Implementation:
Support fabrication teams in developing weld procedures and specifications compliant with AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3. Assist in developing PQRs and WPSs for: Structural - Carbon Steel Pipe – Carbon Steel Pipe – 304 Stainless Steel Support the creation of welding inspection/testing procedures and documentation to ensure compliance, including material tracking and filler metal specifications tied to welding processes. Skills/Requirements:
Degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field Experience with high-tech manufacturing welding practices (required) Experience developing and implementing Weld Inspection programs (preferred) Ability to work with all levels of seniority within a manufacturing environment US Citizens and authorized workers are encouraged to apply.
