Industrial Engineer
| Location: Phoenix, AZ
A rapidly growing advanced manufacturing innovator is expanding its operational footprint in the greater Phoenix area. As part of its strategic growth initiatives, the company is launching a new state-of-the-art facility and is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead key planning and optimization efforts.
This is a high-impact opportunity to help design and operationalize a new plant from the ground up, collaborating cross-functionally to enhance performance, productivity, and sustainability in production processes. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in capacity planning, lean process development, and facility layout design, helping to ensure a smooth and cost-effective transition into a new manufacturing space.
Responsibilities
Lead planning, design, and optimization of manufacturing workflows for a new production facility.
Develop and refine site layouts to maximize workflow efficiency and support future expansion, working in close partnership with operations, production, and engineering stakeholders.
Conduct time studies, labor utilization analysis, and capacity planning to inform decision-making and operational setup.
Drive successful product launches by designing and optimizing manufacturing workflows for smooth implementation and integration.
Partner with cross-functional teams to drive lean initiatives, kaizen events, and continuous improvement programs.
Identify, deploy, and integrate efficient solutions, tools, and technologies that boost output and minimize inefficiencies.
Provide expertise and guidance on lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies, developing and coaching team members to achieve operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during facility setup and ongoing operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field required.
Minimum 5 years and up to 8 years of experience in industrial engineering or a similar field.
Strong knowledge of lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies, with Green or Black Belt certification a plus.
Experience supporting new facility setup or expansion projects, ideally in high-automation environments.
Proficient in process optimization, capacity analysis, and material handling solutions.
Strong technical skills in software applications and data analysis.
Familiarity with automation systems, including robotic machinery (e.g., FANUC), is highly desirable.
