Sr. Associate Product Engineer - Leeds, AL

This is an engineering role responsible for leading all aspects of engineering functions for a product line within Hubbell Power Systems, focusing on electric utility and communications connectors. The role involves collaborating with the product management team to grow sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain product line including cost reductions, drawing updates, engineering change requests, testing, and communication with departments such as operations, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, new product development, and quality.
Manage product deviations to meet customer demands, including design, testing, and documentation.
Prepare 3D CAD models and drafts of parts and assemblies using AutoCAD Inventor.
Perform and review FEA (structural & thermal analysis) on parts and assemblies.
Review customer specifications, design solutions, and provide cost estimates for pricing.
Fabricate, assemble, and test prototypes to verify performance.
Develop and review design concepts, drawings, BOMs, and assembly processes.
Participate in brainstorming activities led by NPD.
Conduct quality audits as needed.
Assist lab technicians with testing to qualify or validate product performance.
Collaborate with the Product Line Manager to understand industry needs and define product line extensions.
Support customers with application questions and training on product installation and use.
Lead new product projects from design to market launch.
Deliver training presentations and demonstrations to customers.
Support the quality department in resolving customer complaints.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
1-3 years of experience in designing or maintaining parts and assemblies for production.
Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor & Vault.
Experience designing parts for casting processes and performing FEA analysis is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.
Strong analytical, leadership, and project management skills.
Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
