The future of civil engineering and transportation technologies is rapidly evolving due to innovations in autonomous vehicles and infrastructure, as well as the industry’s transition to OpenRoads Designer and OpenBridge Designer software. This defined retirement benefit requires a 12% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1* Learn more at**We Require*** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; Or* Four years of computer-aided design and drafting work experience, or four years of professional pre-registration civil engineering experience* An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum degree qualification on a year-for-year basis* Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire**We Also Value*** Five years of CADD work experience* Experience using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and OpenBridge software* Experience using Bluebeam software* Experience with OpenRoads Designer, subsurface utility design, and analysis* Experience working with reality modeling software applications* Experience conducting CADD training classes and/or creating training documentation**Job Contributions*** Act as a technical resource in the use of CADD technology, providing both technical support and training to CADD users* Develop, enhance, and expand CADD technology, education, and implementation within MCDOT through researching, creating, and testing technical configurations and software functionality* Troubleshoot, research, and provide solutions to problems with various CADD-related software and hardware* Collaborate with MCDOT Engineers to produce engineering drawings, base files, exhibits, charts, maps, and visual aids for transportation projects using CADD technology* Assist the CADD Manager in developing and updating MCDOT’s CADD standards and standard operating procedures* Draw and modify MCDOT Standard Engineering Details and Sample Sheets* Produces 3D reality models of transportation projects using CADD technology* Maintains CADD equipment and drawing files* Attend CADD networking sessions and meet with technical experts in civil engineering to remain current on “state-of-the-art” developments in both hardware and software* Other job duties as assigned**Working Conditions*** This position is eligible for hybrid flexibility after a brief training period* Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing for longer periods of time* The position is typically located in an office environment. Occasional field work may be required.
