Quality Engineer

will support and provide leadership for all new and existing products and processes in the facility. The Quality Engineer will lead development and refinement of product-specific quality systems to ensure compliance with customer expectations. What The Quality Engineer Will Do: Assist in the compliance of TS16949 certification, including conducting internal, process, and compliance audits as needed. Act as statistical process control (SPC) and engineering change/process change coordinator. Coordinate the development of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation related to manufactured products. Participate in new program/manufacturing plan (launch) and engineering and process change meetings regularly. Work with engineering and operations to ensure transfer to production of new products in accordance with approved data and specific customer requirements. Facilitate dimensional studies through internal and/or lab testing. Investigate supplier PPAP packages and corrective action packages as required. Control and manage temporary process deviations, including renewing and tracking them. Be responsible for completing daily, weekly, and monthly reporting related to IRPPM, RPPM, and containment, including Pareto analysis of the top 3, 5, and 10 issues. Maintain product process flows, P-FMEAs, and control plans, including annual reviews against current prints and products. What The Quality Engineer Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or metallurgical engineering preferred. ASC certifications accepted in lieu of an undergraduate degree. 3+ years of automotive manufacturing experience. Ability to read engineering prints and use basic metrology tools such as calipers and micrometers. Knowledge of TS16949:2002 and quality systems. Supervisory skills and experience. Knowledge in performing process and compliance audits. Experience in creating, updating, and maintaining process flows, control plans, and P-FMEAs. Knowledge of conducting MSA, Gage R&R, and SPC analysis. Familiarity with GD&T. Knowledge of PPAP, 8D methodology, supplier quality, quality tools, and customer web-based systems. Ability to use quality testing equipment including depth gauges, calipers, micrometers, tape measures, product gauges, and CMM preferred.
