WHAT YOU WILL DO SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Supervisor for the Covington Ice Cream facility. The position will be part of a team of Supervisors responsible for the site. Overall responsibility for current and future manufacturing performance (safety, quality, and efficiency of either the Refinery or Packaging operation) using the Ice Cream Management System operating framework. Direct responsibility for all Hourly Production Employees, and all hourly employees on off-shifts. Additionally, the Supervisor will work on continuous improvement projects both individually and on teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing manufacturing activities during the designated shift by leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, quality, efficiency, and cost. Accountable for general supervisory coverage for all shifts. Includes schedule coordination, labor / crewing, safety, quality, site security, and behavioral management.
Protection of employee health and safety by meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction regarding safety procedures, and ensuring compliance of all regulatory and plant safety rules.
Develops plans and activities to meet plant targets, which include but are not limited to functional responsibilities and other projects that are established for cost reduction, yield improvements and efficiency gains.
Accountable for the productivity of the site during off-shifts. Includes provision of some technical expertise, contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage, monitoring general performance and behavior of employees, and adjusting crewing or call-in replacements as necessary.
Maintaining good industrial relationships by ensuring correct administration of the labor procedures and use of a proactive problem-solving approach.
Provide leadership and support to Ice Cream Manufacturing System (ICMS) mission and ensure that objectives are met and returns on investment are evident.
Facilitate required training programs to employees. (SHE, QA, Autonomous Maintenance, etc.)
Regularly cascades/communicates Site targets and goals from the Leadership Team to shift crews, consistently and accurately.
Support quality and food safety programs including GMP, HACCP and FSSC-22000.
Attend, participate, and complete the required trainings for the programs implemented in the company.
Participate and/or support in Internal and External Audits.

Qualifications
High School Diploma Required
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (preferably technical in nature)
At least 3 years of demonstrated success in a manufacturing capacity
Experience in managing a safety culture, high speed packaging, food manufacturing, GMP, HACCP is preferred
Able to work on nights consistently but also flexible in covering vacation gaps on other shifts
Excellent communication skills, and a natural leader. Ability to guide and mentor a team
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience is an asset
Advanced troubleshooting skills and an aptitude for getting things done
Solid foundation in production procedures

The pay range for this position is $69,360 to $104,040. Unilever considers a wide range of factors in compensation decisions.
Bonus:
This position is bonus eligible.
