Certification from an approved First Assistant Credentialing Program and endorsed by the Liaison of Surgical Technologists. Work with complex monitoring and life support equipment. Able to perform in cardiac service. Reads, writes, and speaks English. Practice knowledge of standard precautions and sterile technique. Is knowledgeable of age specific physiological/psychosocial/developmental/spiritual needs of patients served. Self directed to learn and achieve unit objectives.Must tolerate long hours and be able to work variable shifts. Much standing, walking, bending, lifting, transferring of anesthetized patients, and pushing of heavy carts, stretchers, and equipment. Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. Visual and auditory acuity required.
