Main duties of the job The post holder will take the leading role in the day to day team management of the specialist nurse team in leg ulcer and lymphodema, to support case load oversight, quality improvement initiatives, lower limb assessment, planning and implementation of programs of care within all areas of Leg ulcer and Lymphedema.
The post holder will work independently within the Tissue Viability/Lymphoedema team/leg ulcer service working within community and hospital settings, providing specialist wound care advice, organising workload, team management, delegation of tasks, promoting clinical excellence with a specific focus on the assessment and management of all aspects of the Leg ulcer and Lymphoedema team. Exercising leadership and judgement to ensure safe clinical practice and high standards of care are maintained to meet service demand within the leg ulcer and lymphoedema team.
You will be working within an integrated department and be involved with the current changes and developments within the organisation.

Registered General Nurse
Post registration experience in wound care field.
Relevant post registration wound care qualification - Tissue viability/wound care/Lymphoedema
Relevant post registration Leg ulcer management course or equivalent
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
Evidence of involvement in teaching
Evidence of mentorship experience
Nurse prescriber V100, V150, V300
Quality improvement course
Lymphoedema /Chronic oedema/manual lymphatic drainage/Multilayer bandaging qualification or equivalent
Experience
Experience of working at a senior level in the management of patients with complex tissue viability/lymphedema needs
Wound management skills: Topical negative pressure application, Doppler and compression bandaging
Experience of managing staff and resources in a variety of settings i.e. Acute and Community
Experience of change management Experience of managing a caseload
Experience of innovative practice
Experience of clinical governance and safety/quality initiatives pertaining to the role.
Implementation of audit/evidence based recommendations.
Excellent communication skills and experience of conflict management.
Evidence of development needs/support/mentorship to junior staff including students.
