Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.**Job Requirements**Education* Bachelor's Degree *required for Physician Assistants** Master's Degree *required for Nurse Practitioners*Work Experience* 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience *required** Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting *required** Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly *preferred*Required Licenses/Certifications* National Certification* Active state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required* Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting* Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred* Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records* Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills* Strong communication and customer service skills**Essential Functions***Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Following are the essential functions of the job.*- Examining and treating patients- Taking patients’ medical histories- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients- Educating and counseling patients- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care- Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care- All other duties as assigned*Note:
