Our 6 veterinarians, along with a highly skilled team of nurses, technicians, and client care advocates, have proudly practiced the highest level of medicine while also providing excellent customer care for the last 14 years. We are a primary veterinary care facility that strives to deliver quality wellness and preventive care, progressive medical care, soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery, comprehensive dental procedures, laser therapy, and diagnostic ultrasound.

Our hospital offers 7 exam rooms (including 1 dedicated to felines), a large treatment area, separate surgical and dental suites, digital whole-body and dental radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic cold laser, in-house IDEXX diagnostics, and a pharmacy, as well as a separate glass-walled ICU. We prioritize work-life balance, being closed on the first Saturday of every month, six major holidays, and do not offer boarding or on-call services.

Part-Time Associate Veterinarian – Flexible Hours in Durham, NC! Southpoint Animal Hospital in Durham, NC, is hiring a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join our practice at our Fear-Free Certified hospital!

Description

Develop rapport with clients, determine their needs and wishes, and perform physical examinations and diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures that deliver high-quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.

Explain examination findings, communicate diagnoses, and generate treatment plans. Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and nutritional products.

Maintain accurate medical and surgical records, ensuring all logs are up-to-date, and assist colleagues with follow-up and future management.

Stay current with new medical information and attend Continuing Education meetings.

Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to ensure the highest quality of care and client service.

Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and to the public.

Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university

Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of application

Professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude

Ability to make decisions and communicate effectively with team members

Respect and willingness to work with clients and their pets

Compassionate team player committed to high standards of medicine and ethics

Proficiency in surgery is a plus
