We are currently looking for a Protection and Control Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in protection and control system design, cost estimating, and bidding document preparation for commercial, industrial, generation, and renewables. Typical system voltage levels range from 138 kV to 2.4kV. This position can be filled in any of our New York offices.
The Building Engineering Division at LaBella provides complete building engineering services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering. Services range from feasibility studies and analysis through project design and construction.

Duties
Design projects working directly with clients to develop project scope, identify problems, and propose solutions. Typical requirements include Protection and Control drawings and documentation (relay one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, I/O lists, relay settings, configuration files, etc.), panel construction specifications (panel and interconnect wiring as well as panel layouts and elevations), and other supporting documentation. Evaluate the interoperability, control features, and communication/protocol aspects of protective relays, RTUs, LTC Controllers, and other equipment, as well as perform power system load flow studies, fault studies, and relay setting coordination. Aid in commissioning as needed pertaining to system startups and functional checks. Salary Range:
$90,000 - $135,000 per year The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. Minimum Requirements
A BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. 5 or more years of experience in protection and control system design, cost estimating, and bidding document preparation for electrical transmission and distribution substations projects. A PE license from a US State is desired but not required. Successful track record designing Protection and Control Systems. Knowledge of IEEE, NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards used in designing substations is critical. Experience with telecommunications, protective relaying, and automation (SCADA) is required. Interest in low voltage coordination and arc flash studies. Familiarity with Schweitzer Engineering, General Electric, and Basler equipment.
