Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Controls / Automation Engineer in the Science Hill KY Area
This is a full time direct hire position.
In this role, you'll spearhead the programming and setup of PLCs and HMIs to manage and oversee bespoke automated equipment. You'll convert intricate automation workflows into intuitive user interfaces, facilitate smooth system integration, and perform rigorous testing to deliver top-tier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
PLC Development : Craft and implement PLC programs utilizing ladder logic, structured text, or function block methodologies to orchestrate automation sequences.
HMI Design : Build and customize HMIs that convert PLC outputs into accessible operator screens, alerts, and performance metrics.
Integration Efforts : Link PLCs with HMIs to enable instantaneous data exchange and precise depiction of equipment functionality.
Validation and Simulation : Conduct simulations and tests on machinery to confirm the reliability of PLC code and HMI features before deployment.
Issue Resolution : Identify and fix problems in automation software and hardware during in-house evaluations and field installations.
Team Coordination : Partner with mechanical, electrical, and integration specialists to achieve cohesive system performance.
Documentation Creation : Compile detailed records covering programming, HMI setups, and operational guidelines.
Field Assistance : Travel as needed to customer locations for system startup, integration support, or problem-solving.
Qualifications:
Proven expertise in PLC programming and HMI configuration.
Solid grasp of ladder logic, structured text, and core concepts in industrial automation.
Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, control schematics, and engineering diagrams.
Excellent analytical abilities with a keen eye for precision.
Willingness to undertake periodic travel for commissioning activities.
